Using Windows Repair (All in One)

Tweaking.com
After a serious cleanse of bugs and infections it is time to use Windows Repair (All in One) to correct issues.  I found this tool to be an incredible time saver and more often than not deals with a majority of the issues my client's computers face.  Like all tools none fixes all but this one sure is a great start.

Download the program from HERE.   Install it and Open.

Windows Repair (All in One) Opening Window
Select "Step 1"

Windows Repair (All in One) Clean System Window
If you have followed this blog and cleaned your system of  "bugs" already skip this step if you are new to this start with Windows Disk Cleaner and work your way down the list until you get here again.

Windows Repair (All in One) Check File System Window
Select "Do It" to have this program run Windows chkdsk.  This will ensure your hard disk(s) are in good order.  I often find this check will speed up a slow machine.

Windows Repair (All in One) System File Check Window
This window gives you the option to look at the system files and confirm they have not been tampered with by infections or installed programs.  Unlike the previous step this one looks at the files themselves not the data structure and compares them with those in storage.

Windows Repair (All in One) Registry Backup and System Restore Window
Anytime you make any changes to your system it is a most prudent and wise thing to backup your registry and perform a system restore, just in case.  Remember, "taking the time to save time."

Windows Repair (All in One) Start Repairs Window
Click "Start" and you and ready to go.

Windows Repair (All in One) Repairs Window
Check All Items here (I do not like Sidebar gadgets, they slow down my system).  Click Restart/Shutdown and choose the last option as I have.  This is what is known as a "Cold Boot,"  this is important so all memory caches are cleared.  Grab a coffee or do lunch because this process can take some time depending on your system.
